Satoru Iwata (Nintendo President) passed away

I still can't believe it since I've just seen him around E3 this year. I'm not really a fan of Nintendo in general but I have huge respect for the company and for Iwata-san. RIP.

Rest in peace, Iwata-san. You'll live on through all the gaming you made available across the world.

I just saw it on Kotaku ... I was like WTF ... its not April 1st _ - _ instantly I was reminded of the GIF when he was printing $$$ from all the nintendo Wii sales...

Yeah, I had a busy day at work and just saw the news when I got on facebook when I got home. Completely out of left field. I mean, you could see he lost weight, but the way they were making it sound, he had turned a corner and was doing better. He must have been in rougher shape than everyone was lead on to believe. A much flack as he and Nintendo got for their family friendly games, the guy oversaw some of the most profitable times for the company especially during the Wii/DS heyday back in the late 00's. It wasn't an easy gig taking over for Hiroshi Yamauchi back in '02 and he did a pretty solid job despite some hiccups with the Wii U and 3DS. RIP Iwata-san. Whomever takes over as head of Nintendo has some pretty big shoes to fill.
