Good or Evil which has more fun taking out evil?

trahecreations
This might be about genius characters. But there are some characters you wonder if they are good or if they are evil, but find taking out the innocent so boring that they fight evil to amuse themselves. This idea was brought about when I was having a discussion with someone about Sherlock Holmes. After all we know Sherlock could careless for others and lives for the mystery. I mean he can be quite the jerk, which makes one wonder if he is truly an evil genius and would do evil if it wasn't so boring so his wicked deeds are to destroy others hard work, which happens to be evil. So who do you think is seen as good and is truly an evil genius? Please explain why too.

Some good characters are anti-heroes in a way. Alucard from Hellsing. The vampire lord who seems cold and callous has insights to true humanity and extends mercy when it was not needed (Ceres Victoria). The way he could verbally dismantle his opponent then pwn them.....a true badass and force of nature. The guys from Maizenkaiser SKL killed mad people with a giant robot but they were saving the world so.... I liked how they bantered with the bad guy about how much fun it will be to keep fighting in hell....an eternity of trying to kill each other and they were all totally on board with it getting more pumped in the fight. And then there's Revi from Black Lagoon. I liked how she had an ipod mix for killing people early on in the series. I think the evil ones have more fun. The good guys, if they are not face rolling cannon fodder, are usually in pain or in a struggle to defeat their foes.

I think anti-heros we already know are evily good or goodly evil. But you do make a valid point. I am talking about characters like Ayaka from tenchi muyo who claimed she was good and pure but was just the same as Ryoko whom she looked down upon because she was 'evil' Or washu from that series as she was said to be an evil genius when in reality she was just a goofball. she was all over the map of good and evil so no way to identify her. evilly good could be characters like Zagato from magical knights rayearth for he was willing to become the bad guy just for the woman he loved and allow the world to fall into ruin just so he could be with her. where he truly wasn't a bad guy just super in love? and Princess Emeraude, from the same series as Goodly Evil. Where she pretty much acts like princess peach from the Mario games crying, whining and down right pathetic, but in truth she was the one who caused the whole messed and made no effort to fix the mess. And ended up doing some down right horrible stuff at the end (spoilers) Personally after reading the manga I think the princess was pure evil. But watching the anime, Zagato's voice was scary enough to have me and my friend up into each other's arms and cower. (that was a real good voice actor, and all he had to say is "I am zagato")

The UnderTaker from black butler he is sick and twisted but loves a good laugh it might be the only thing that keeps him sane conserdring his line work he is a bad ass when he had to be but he is a good natured person who cares about his friends and will do literally anything to protect them despite what he is going through l laughter and care would be the only things keeping him sane

The doctor is a good example, but at the same time bad as he is perceived as both a hero and a villain. He is very much like Sherlock holmes except he does care about humans, but more as if humans were his pets. In truth he spends so much time trying to seem good that in truth he is just curious, lonely and taking care of his pets a.k.a. humans. He spends a lot of time describing people like animals. example fooling others blindly, unable to be killed off as a species in a whole, but also thinks we are stupid and have puny brains. so we are the doctor's pets
