What is the 1st anime you watched that turned you into an Otaku??

My first anime that I really remember as "anime" was an X-1999 vhs tape. But it was Blood-The Last Vampire that I first saw the potential for and made me fall in love with anime.

Fangnir - I've been watching 'em since the late 80s. :P (Oh fuck, I feel old now) Stuff like the aforementioned Alfred J. Kwak, Peter Pan no Bouken, Maple Town Monogatari, Mori no Youki na Kobito-tachi: Belfy to Lillibit, Pinocchio yori Piccolino no Bouken, and a bunch of others I've forgotten. xP

I liked Robotech alot when I was a kid. But it was just another cartoon to me back then. Even had this big toy that was one of those cockpits on bird legs with laser hands.

The first anime I ever watched was Pokemon, however the anime that turned me into an otaku would probably be the original Naruto. I was just so engrossed in the characters and the world of Naruto that I started watching many other series.
