What is the 1st anime you watched that turned you into an Otaku??

I would say my first Anime was My Neighbor Totoro when I was 3 or 4. After that was Ranma 1/2 Followed by Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki All of which were somewhere between 3-6. I was Bred a Otaku lol.

Slap, from Maryland. 26 years old. I was an otaku before I really knew what anime was. I knew I enjoyed series like DBZ, Yu yu Hakusho and such, but I did not know there was a whole name/culture with it until a friend of mine told me what anime was when I was a sophomore in high school. My first anime when I knew what anime was is probably Rurouni Kenshin. I know for a fact Chronicles of the Cursed Sword was my first real manga series because I borrowed it from said friend and I currently have a fair amount of the series. (Unfortunately, the series is no longer interesting to me)

I don't count anything from Toonami. That being said...I think the first anime I bought was Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust at like, 13 or 14 from Suncoast, I think it was called. Some DVD store. Matter of fact I remember standing there, trying to look inconspicuous as I perused the anime DVDs, like I was actually looking for pornos or something. I'd pretend to look at other stuff until people left the vicinity and went back to looking. Think I ended up with Vampire Hunter D 1 and 2, at least one of the original Hellsing, and a Yu Yu Hakusho DVD before that place shut down. Then there was Anime Unleashed on G4. I barely remember any of that though, except Bubblegum Crisis and Betterman.

Well first name is nick and my first was well elfen lied, it wasnt any perverted reason i stumbled upon it and how it was looked good and i liked how it was as in the plot and well yea from that day on i watched anime

hi i'm 17 osario vampire and is this a zombie my first 2 animes i ever saw when i was 10 made me into a massive anime fan

When i was in college I started watching one piece one day and a month later i had finished 800 episodes XD and every since then i am addicted to anime. i watched alot of pokemon and other toonami animes like DBZ and stuff. One piece was the one that got me hooked and have watched it weekly every since!
