i suffered from severe depression throughout high school so i didn't appreciate the lack of semantics, sorry if that "offended" your completely stable sense of self, lordragna also don't go making fun of people with depression like you just did ^ it's a fucking mental illness show some sympathy

Matt it's fine to be bummed about it but don't dwell on it or the one who wronged you too long. Remember they dismissed you so they are not worth your time and mental energy. Focus on making yourself the better man and planning your next move. Since you are in the market for a job sign up with a few temp agencies. It gives you the chance to explore different kinds of work and temps sometimes fall into very sweet jobs. I was a temp between HS and college and I think it helped me choose wisely when I went to school because I had a better idea of my talents and preferences for work. Some of the best and biggest employers only hire temps and contractors and draw in the really good ones they want as full-time employees. Good luck.

Alright, everyone back the fuck up. I have a degree in liberal arts, so I am familiar with many subjects, including psychology, sociology, and other related subjects. I am the resident expert (no offense) For starters, everyone suffers depression at some point in their life. It isn't necessarily a mental illness, though it came be. Losing a job can be a traumatic experience as it is obvious the OP either- 1) Really needed the work, 2) Really enjoyed his job, 3) Is hurt that his position was compromised due to a lie. It's healthy that he is upset. Nor is he overreacting. Finally, my suggestions are concrete. @Matt my friend, if you have an opportunity, look for work either through a school or job fair. Looking online is always a solution too. There is plenty of work out there. It's even possible to try to work at home for awhile so you don't deal with people (that's what I'm doing right now). Another option is relax for awhile (if you can afford it). Take some time to contemplate. Maybe watch anime (cliche here), or do something else you like. If you really need a job because the bills are stacking up, look for work as soon as possible. If you are physically able, maybe take on a trade as a hired hand or laborer. Doing something mundane for awhile may ease you. If you don't need a job right away, then perhaps take a few days off. Visit a large city, a natural section of your area, or do something to take away from the frustration. If you really need help, then talking to a therapist or counselor may help. I don't know you well enough to make a stronger suggestion, but these are things to keep busy. I hope I helped you.
