How Do You Get Inspired?

I usually tend to get inspired by either talking to someone whos really passionate about something or like watching stuff on youtube related to what I'm looking for inspiration to do.

Writers block sucks. To get past it I'd recommend avoiding anything that's going to distract you from your topic. For me its generally girls walking by in the library, or checking my phone. I'd also recommend being in an environment where you can just focus on the task at hand. Being at home isn't always beneficial because our bodies relate rooms to corresponding activities, behaviors, and moods. For example if someone's sitting on their bed using a laptop the person would be more likely to pass out in boredom over engage themselves in critical thinking. I've generally been inspired by ideas or things that I've been passionate about. If you're looking for inspiration I'd suggest figuring out why your topic is important to you and how it could benefit those around you to read whatever you're going to write. If you're writing creatively, I'd suggest finding ambiguous quotes or passages or an abstract idea. Sometimes I'll find words that can spark a firestorm of thoughts. I hope this helps! Gotta love the funny answers :D But yeah that's some pretty good advice jm89 - I suppose it's something to do with my environment, I feel like there's always something distracting me. I have the ideas but it's difficult trying to get them down. I think a new environment can help in a new way of thinking!

I listen to music a lot and I'm able to visualize things from it. I'm not a musician by any means, but I do find music an enjoyable pastime of mine and it does help me think at times.
