A Strange Question

How do you get someone that's into anime into being at least interested in the idea of cosplaying...I know it goes against the laws of Cosplay. But I think it's cool and fun and wish my friend was also into it. But I somewhat respect that it's not for him, but thinks it'd be cool if could go to a con and cosplay together as something from teh same series as don't have a lot of friends into it.

It's a tricky question because you don't want to force your hobbies onto other people. Show him some cosplay montage videos from old cons or tell him Jessica Nigri will love him if he cosplays. You also have to look at it from his point of view. He's probably thinking to himself in a simplified way, "Do I wanna dress up in a costume and go out in public as a grown man". I don't know your friend but don't push it on him too much since you don't wanna weird him out and him thinking to himself "Why does my friend wanna dress up in costumes together so bad". Obviously simplified terms/thinking but you get the point.
