@Ryan: Yah, which is why I'm probably going to choose not to ask him out. I mean, we'll see lol. I resume my work tomorrow, sooo...aha.

BAD idea if its a job you plan on keeping, important for your career, or one that you care about. If you'd start dating and then things go south with the relationship, talk about awkward and tons of unnecessary drama coming along for the ride. Best just to avoid coworkers to begin with.

@cielle: Half assed or not, you don't have to know Japanese to even work in a Japanese company. The zaibatsus have foreign offices/branches nowadays. I personally know quite a few Americans who work for Japanese companies without knowing an ounce of Japanese language or culture. Perhaps you should be more specific in your words. Majoring in Japanese and Business Econ doesn't necessarily mean you are well-versed in said culture; textbooks and degrees only make one instructed, not educated. Besides, how am I to know you have such qualifications when there were no hints of so? By the way, there isn't a "Far East Asian" mentality; each Asian country has its own subtle differences. To group them together is equivalent to saying "American" mentality, which isn't necessarily true since there are differences in culture and attitudes from state to state.
