I would say anime pre-2008 is old school. It has gone down hill with the excess use of fan service in modern anime. There are still good things being put out but not in as great of frequency compared to back then.

I consider any hand drawn anime to be old school. Great teacher onizuka and dragan ball z are old school.

Well, considering we're now 15 years into the 2000s, I'd say definitely anything older than the year 2000 is now considered old school. For anyone in their late 20s-early 30s (like me), DBZ, Sailor Moon, Evangelion are all considered old school and classics nowadays.

I am 25 and here is my list of old skool... Most of the ones listed I watched but not all... Dragon Ball series Sailor Moon Great Teach Onizuka Van Dread Outlaw Star Vash the Stampede Strawberry Panic Guntz Gun x Sword Beck mongolian chop squad White album (1st session) and last but not least... Shadow Skill For me Old skool anime is the ones with crude drawings like the graphics on old video games ^-^ Some I think are border line like Hunter x Hunter (not the 2011 revision), Spice n Wolf, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion, Eureka 7, Inuyasha, s-CRY-ed where I see more as Classics not so much old skool. Shadow skill on the other hand was the anime that got me into anime. The very first one I watched and it's sooo old that I don't even think you can find it on most anime websites O.O
