I really hate the word "Otaku"

I wasn't saying he was like Hitler - read the fucking post again it was an inverse analogy. I had no idea of the fact that today is International Holocaust Remembrance day. Miyazaki is right, in my opinion. People shouldn't obsess their lives over anime. You wouldn't know I liked anime unless you asked me directly, or had access to my computer - something most users wouldn't be able to do as the disk is encrypted and not in a format readable by Windows, Linux or Mac.

No it isn't - its more of the level of the N-word in terms of offense. I'm not an otaku because by definition, I do not obsess over anime. Sorry. I'm not one of you technically. As far as being accused of being in the closet - not at all - I don't encrypt the disk because it has anime on it - its because of other things on the disk, and I like privacy. In any case - I'm not hiding that I watch anime - you just have to ask me directly in real life. You all are desperate for a label, but I've grown up and seen that there is no point in the label. A good majority of you all have a serious disconnect in how the world works. Again, its a label designed to define people obsessed over anime. I'm not obsessed - its nowhere near a way of life for me. I have things I do that do not include anime, out of a day, I take less than an hour to watch any anime - and most days I go without.

I concede, good sir. Clearly you are not an Otaku. However, based on your statements, I clearly am one. I am obsessed with all things anime/video games and it controls my life. I cannot stop buying anime swag and watching anime and reading manga. I am such a wretched... Only if there was a website that would safely accept my kind, a place where I could feel safe and no one make me feel like I'm equivalent to the N-word. Oh well, no such place exists. I'll just change my life and become a model person and only watch anime for less than an hour a day.

Otaku sounds like a taco why would you not want to seem like a delicious food?
