Look or keep waiting

Well, 26 years on this world and never been in a relationship in my entire life. Well, 10 years after feeling like finding one actually. Everybody says so (Family, friends, the like with everything I've done) but I'm still trying. What would be the best solution? Keep talking and hang out with the girl or let life to take its course. I did kind of both yet still here I am. Still not giving up yet feel like throwing the towel every once in awhile. Always end up starting my search again. So, what would be the best course?

Define the relationship with the person involved first? I'm a bit of a blunt, straight arrow so I would honestly just ask the person in question where she thinks we'll be in 5-7 years time and my vision of it. Of course, I'll expect some..reaction but it's better than investing 5+ years of time and not knowing if it goes anywhere/last-minute breakup. Everyone has an expiry date after all.
