Anime Expo 2012

I be going this year, 3rd time going to AX. not sure what cosplays to bring but for sure my Scarlet Spider Man costume will be at AX for one of the days ^^b

^ I felt that way for the past five years. My parents always denied and deferred that dream... but this year, I will REALIZE it. Thank the universe. You gotta go to at least one convention in your life. And if you don't have a good time, you can talk shit about it all you want. xD What you need to do is figure out what's holding you back, and then connive viciously to ascend those problems.

Was going to go last year but instead want to Japan (thought it was a good trade off). I am going to try and go next year, it will be my first Con.

That sounds cool. Although I wouldn't like Japan itself, I think. Don't wanna deal with TSA drama. Anime Expo, on the other hand, is generally more accepting of random people, and much closer to home. :P

It sure was interesting. Almost got in a fight with some Mormon looking Japanese guys that were trying to harass me and my friends and got told 3 times by different people to get out of their country, oh and lets not forget all the other foreigners. Pretty much other then the people I loved the place. The food was great, the sites are beautiful, and the shopping for arcade machine parts were plentiful.

Wow. I didn't realize the xenophobia was that strong over there. I knew it existed, but I'd never read of any first-hand events up until now. My uncle visits Japan regularly and he hasn't spoken about anything like those experiences, but he's a structural engineer and he's actually been productive in Japan, analyzing and keeping tabs on the long term damage from the earthquake. :P

Well to be fair I was staying in the ghetto of Tokyo (which was kind of a joke really) and I found it more funny then offensive, but I have a warped since of humor like that. I still recommend it to visit for a week or two, I will be going back in a few years to pick up more arcade parts. People just need to understand that in other counties some people will like outsiders and some won't, no perfect place.

I totally see that. Even in American, we have had the Nativist and Americanization movements, and others who feel like they're entitled to kick anyone out. :P I still might want to visit. The math looks so hard! Odawesome: What concerts? On what days? I'd like some more info on that... and have you bought your ticket yet? I don't know how it works. O.o
