Any love for Japanese cars (JDM)

BMWs are one of the few European cars I really like much that's not an exotic. I worked on more than a few and they are good quality machines for the most part. Spendy sometimes though...

I would absolutely love a Nissan Silvia K S14 or S15 Spec R Aero, but unfortunately, they're illegal to own in the US. I could go with a 240SX, but the KA24DE is a crappy engine compared to the SR20DET. And I don't think I'd like a 240SX with a 1JZ-GTE engine in it (it's actually a very common engine swap). Of course, there's the Mark IV Toyota Supra's, but they're a pain to find nowadays (of course, the 2JZ engines are easy enough to get). I wouldn't mind a Mark III though, with the 7S-GTE engine (with proper head gaskets, not the silly asbestos ones). Otherwise, get a US-spec Mark III and drop a 1JZ into it...of course, it's never that simple. Interestingly enough, as cool as the BNR32 and BNR34 GT-R's are, I wouldn't want one. They just don't fit my style, honestly. Just definitely NOT the current R35 GT-R's. Those things are GT-R's with no souls (because they don't have the RB26DETT engine in them anymore and weigh 2 tons. No sports car with a 6-cylinder engine should weigh TWO FREAKING TONS!) A Nissan Pulsar GTI-R would be AMAZING. A sweet little hot hatch with SR20DETT and ATTESSA AWD. It's light and agile. Alternatively, a Nissan Fairlady Z S30 (known as Datsun 240Z S30 in the US) would be awesome, but not with the factory L24 engine in it. I'd rather drop something like an RB25DET or an RB26DETT with the transmission from an RB25 in it to maintain the RWD aspect of the car. Or I could go completely crazy and drop a 1JZ-GTE in it. Of course, this is just a dream. Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII would be great as well, but again, difficult to find with a reasonable price. The same could be said for the first generation Eclipse/Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser AWD model, which also had the same 4G63 engine found in the EVO's. Or how about the Mazda RX-7 FC? Getting one in any color for me would be amazing, just swap out the twin-scroll turbo in the FC with the dual sequential turbo setup found in the FD, and it'll be golden. Of course, that'd be one heck of a major custom job to get all the piping right on the intake. I prefer the look of the FC over the FD, even though the FC is significantly heavier. Definitely not the RX-8, though. And heck, it's also hard to beat a Toyota MR2 SW10 or SW20 (preferably the latter). That turbo 3S-GTE engine in the SW20 is stupid powerful and crazy durable. Of course, the 4A-GZE found in the SW10 is great too (it's basically a reinforced 4A-GE engine, which is the iconic engine found in the AE86). Or alternatively, an AE86 with a 4A-GZE engine with a supercharger or small turbo. Yup, that'd be a fun car. Honda S2000 AP1 or AP2? Nah, not my cup of tea. Or perhaps a Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 would be amazing too. That car was crazy awesome in WRC...up until they were caught cheating, but still, it's crazy powerful, and crazy fast, if slightly heavy. Sadly, most of those cars would be out-of-reach for me. Well, except for one: The one car that I actually DO plan on getting is either a first-gen (NA) or second-gen (NB) Mazda MX-5 and put in the FMII turbo kit (among other things) and take it to AutoX and drifting around the midwest area. That would be awesome. The MX-5 is super agile, perfectly balanced, and most of all, insanely easy to find and crazy cheap and easy to mod. For a 2-seat RWD car with perfect 50/50 balance front to back, it's hard to beat the affordability of an MX-5. It's a shame we don't get any of the cool Kei cars here in the US. Suzuki Cappuccino anyone?

Oh yeah a little mx-5 with a 6 speed would be a little monster. Watched the drift king in one of those, OMG it's sick.

A car of the good state.There is a case that I possessed civic(EF) in the past, too. I think a way of thinking of a manufacturer is out, and fascinating respectively. To consider the durability in particular, a Japanese car thinks the performance is inferior compared with a German car.

I never said that Japanese cars possessed inferior performance. They're just more utilitarian in nature, vs a European car which is more overbuilt.

I drive a 2014 Honda Civic, and I enjoy it immensely. When the day comes that it no longer can be driven I fully expect myself to replace it with another Japanese make. I already have 2 dream cars of mine, for the future. The Nissan GT-R, which In doubt I'll ever be able to have, and the more realistic Lexus IS 250. I practically love the modern Mazdas and Subarus however, and really can see them as a future purchase.

I think a German car can excel the body rigidity and high speed stability more than a Japanese car. The exchange cycle of the compensation and the consumables was early, and there were also a lot of trivial breakdowns. It cost a lot of money. Is that FC3S? I think it has the high fuel consumption, but it's a good sports car.
