Do I need a real pic?

You'll probably need to put a bit more effort into finding someone than just putting a picture up I guess. Hang out at the forums, get to know people over here and let them get to know you... IDK, but giving up simply because putting a pic up didn't work kinda sounds meh. Blah Blah something something... Nothing worth having comes easy... Or something...

Do you need to put a picture up? You don't "need" to per say, but online dating is a numbers game and as such whatever you can do to boost the odds in your favor would be helpful if you're serious about it

Putting a pic up is a start, but you're also going to need to put some effort into it. I really get messaged very rarely. You need to post on peoples walls, send out friend requests, and be active on the forums as mentioned above. You're also battling roughly a two to one ratio of guys to girls on dating sites and this one is no exception. Girls have far more choice and in turn can be a lot more picky in who they like and chat with. They aren't just going to line up and start messaging you if you don't make a move first.

Two to one? More like five to one.. Seriously, you ever pay attention to that on peoples profiles..
