Dunk and cover, GG and its detractors each have their fair share of nuts so I try to avoid the discussion. Though I'm more in favor of the former, I understand what its sane member's goal is. Well, tbh it's less of a group and more of a movement, but yeah.

Toxic wouldn't be the word I'd use, more hyperbolic or bipolar. But at their core I believe they have something, not many gaming sites one can trust these days.

Not gonna lie, I have yet to see gamergaters go after journalistic ethics with anywhere near the same amount of energy as they do going after people, specifically women, developers, critics, journalist, or who have just plain said something negative about gamergate

The toxic part I was referring to was in the youtube comments section, or any other comments section for the matter. But I do agree with Maverick it's really hard to trust some game journalists nowadays.
