As a mixed female, I'd just like to say responding to language with violence will never help your case. We're at a very interesting inflection point where some movements are actually going so far that they are impeding progression towards a society that doesn't factor race or gender into opportunities. This is becoming more prevalent with younger generations.
While we're at a general balance now, as the older more traditionally racist generations thin out, we may eventually see a new form of discrimination propagate.
Just something to think of when you try to bring race, gender, or any equivalent into discussion with ANY form of justification.

its not about racist words themselves, its how they are used in context, if these racist words were used in things like compliments all the time i don't think there would be a problem lol

I say it usually with friends but not out in public. In private chat, I guess. I remember once I was at school sitting with some people at a table for study hall. Well, one of the freshmen asked me to say nigger and I wouldn't. He was black, and so were most of the people at my table. I'm not from Florida and I haven't been raised around a lot of different cultures and races so, I don't want to offend anyone with saying something considered negative about their ethic backgrounds. Anyways, he kept asking me to say it and said it was fine to say it. I still didn't because it made me very uncomfortable saying it out in public.

It shouldn't be said period. If you don't know that person at all don't say it to them at because you don't know whether or not they will be offended. As for me i hate that word and depending on the scenario numerous of things can happen because i don't take some situations lightly.

any word you say only has as much power you give it. unfortunately a lot of people give all kinds of words power they don't need [nigger, chink, spick, jap, etc...]. It's simple. you KNOW that the word is downright disrespectful. So why do you have the urge to say it to/around someone that you THINK it'll offend? Do you really need to prove your point that badly that you'll invoke a fight? Congrats on getting your ass beat by saying one simple word. I'm seriously tired of white people getting mad at the fact that blacks lose reason when white people say it. You know the real reason why black people get mad? cause we've been treated like shit in the states ever since white people came & picked us the fuck up. And when we finally got a slither of respect, after 450 years, and white people think that cause black people are no longer slaves that it's all good. no. Africans were slaves in this country a lot longer than they've been free. Blacks are still being targeted, profiled, discriminated and so forth. So yeah, when blacks hear a white person say nigger, it's like it sets off in a black person. Like the slither of respect they've fought and bled for is taken away by a white person who says it so effortlessly as if it's cool. Leave black people alone. Don't fuck with them, they prolly won't fuck with you. And if they do, chalk it up to bad luck. Go bother someone else. I notice I never hear about white people going to Mexico calling them wetbacks by themselves. Why is that? Cause you know those "wetbacks" will beat you and put you in an unmarked grave and go back to work like nothing happened. But whatever, be as ignorant as the word you're trying to rationalize. go ahead. I'll read about you. I put money on this tho, none of you, and I do mean not one of any of you, will ever call me a nigger to my face. by all means, saying it online is fine and dandy. I can't reach you. But grow some balls and say it to my face *koffkoffaschthebloodykoffkoff* Keep using a fake profile and pretend to be the bitch that you are. Come call me a nigger to my face and you won't ever have to worry about suicide again, that I can promise you.

Kichi, you're absolutely right. Nobody should use said words, but they do out of ignorance. I respect the passion you put into what you wrote, but I believe it will fall on deaf ears to those who actually should hear it.
Either way, thank you for this.

As long as you're close to the person and aren't using it in a derogatory sense. Like if you were using it in a quote for example. If you don't know who you're talking with then don't say it. It's one of those things that is probably better off not said but is excusable sometimes, like as aforementioned.
