Created this today, it’s a lot of smaller details than I normally do, and I’m proud of myself since I always mess up drawing from a side angle, I’m making more progress than I thought

@lolax27 You are excellent with your line work around the eyes. I can tell that you have practiced drawing eyes the most with people's hair appearing to be a close second. The hands and feet I see were a tad rushed though haha. I also had an art teacher that used to ride me fairly hard on shading too. She would see something like yours and ask why there is no lighting to help draw attention to the angle at which the subject was sitting. We take for granted how much simple details like shadows orient the way an image is seen.

@gabriel_true thank you for the compliment I appreciate it very much! And line work was never my strong point since I was always more into shading and the lines would always be a bit rushed as they can be in this picture too haha. Since I haven’t truly drawn a real full body picture in probably a year or so (there was always a piece missing whether it was a head or leg, etc) And absolutely I too have had that experience with art teachers! Many seem to nitpick but I must say it’s given me a different perspective of art in general so I’m thankful in a way! Did you ever have a strong interest in art or did you purely take it as a class in high school, etc?

I have drawn simply for the thrill of it. I did have art classes in both high school and college. My passion only pops up usually when I am in a comical mood. If I wish to tell a joke ideally I want to draw out the scenario. However I lack discipline and will meander much like how I talk. Here is something I made for a project back in 9th grade.
