Yup. Credit where it's due, Satanism is a deeply misunderstood religion/Worldview. My opinion towards them still hasn't changed. @Bashful: I dunno, beliefs are pretty important to me. I wouldn't wanna get romantically involved with someone who thought jews are trying to replace them in some unspoken civil hierarchy, for example. Back on topic though. For me, It's because unlike wicca, most satanists view their beliefs as a philosophy rather than a religion, and as an INFP who participates in the psionic practices, I find the philosophy itself to be a bit too hedonistic and self serving to find compatibility with them in dating. Friendship, sure I could get along with a Satanist, though I tend to butt heads with them in certain discussions. Dating? Nah, it hits all the wrong notes. And this is in no way me saying I'm morally superior, just ethically incapable of relating. That said, they're humans, and are perfectly capable of emotion. (Although Satanism tends to be attractive for a lot of sociopaths, so you might be dealing with someone who doesn't quite understand their own suppressed emotions, but I digress, all religions have those types.) Also, to elaborate on Audio's comment, there are a lot of different branches of Satanism. It's not all one thing like I make it out to be. Both Satanism and Wicca are actually very new religions in the grand scheme of things. Luciferianism may have been around for at least as long as Christianity has been (That's the whole belief that Satan is good and that god is the evil one. I know a lot of hermetics who actually subscribe to that.), and Wicca was based on older pagan beliefs, but the institutionalized forms of Satanism and Wicca we know today were formed in modern-ish times.

Christian here by concept only, I wouldn't mind if they're not passionate about it, like my belief in a God of some sorts. Satan is the one who opposes so by concept determining what's good and bad in that philosophy it's what I'd rather pay attention to. I'm not religious myself so I wouldn't like anybody who practices a religion either. Honestly beliefs do affect a lot in a relationship and if you don't think so you either haven't dated anyone truly devoted to their religion or you've had luck. So I'd rather date an agnostic person who deems just as valuable any other pagan religion as long as their teachings are good. And about wicca, I've met them and I do not correlate with them in the spiritual sense which I've been lucky to experience a lot. There are a lot of methods so I wouldn't stick with just what the wicca do and not settling on how they see the world might cause trouble. Other than that I got along with them ok.
