Sometimes I feel like I should have been alive in the 40s/50s. I admire housewives and would love to be one. I feel it is one of the greatest sacrifices a woman can do for her husband/wife, to leave behind your dreams to cater to your spouse and make their house a home full-time. Plus I love doing housework, cooking, and hosting. The 40s and 50s, that would have been the perfect era for the housewife. As much as I glamorize it, I know I probably would not have done well in that era due to my personal beliefs, sexuality, and that I'm a very outspoken woman. I probably would've been slapped/spanked every night for something I said or disagreeing with my spouse. And honestly, if I were alive in that era with the same spit-fire personality, I probably would have fought back and slapped my spouse. I'd be deemed crazy and institutionalized! Haha, so I'll keep glamorizing it but I'm very appreciative to live in the time I live in now. I'm fortunate to live in a time where I'm able to speak my mind and believe in the things that I do without shame.
