ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

The stories of people dying doing the ALS ice bucket challenge (woman dying 30 seconds after dumping ice water on her head / boy dies after bucket is dropped on head after doing the challenge) are hoaxes from a satire news website. In another event four firefighters were electrocuted when doing the ALS challenge when the ladder carrying the water being dumped on students got too close to a power line. Two are in critical while two that went up the ladder to help suffered minor injuries from the electric current going through the ladder. Although, one of the founders of the ALS challenge did die in a diving accident recently.

I guess sometimes you just have to do something silly to be noticed by the world. The deaths were probably accidental and had little to do with the ice bucket. More on human stupidity/carelessness/error on that one Personally, I think the cause has been lost somewhere along the way when it went viral but since ALS was on the title I got curious on what ALS is googled it and apparently the awareness thing works.
