Closest thing that I've seen would be Another and Ghost stories, but even then I wouldnt call Another a horror.

Try Higurashi if you can handle a trippy plot, Hellsing/Hellsing ultimate and Gantz if you want horror plus action

well my fav "horror"/"scary" movie is The Blair Witch Project it genuinely made me scare without having to use pop ups or screamers, the whole movie and story line was just creepy

Corpse Party: Tortured Souls IMO, Higurashi has some horror elements but is not horror. More thriller/mystery/psychological.
