Anyone go to cons solo?

My ex got me into going to cons so I don't feel right going by myself. Also I'm naturally an introvert although I'm not as shy as I used to be but I'm still not good at starting conversation with strangers so I like to go with a someone who is either an extrovert to help socialization with others, or if I go with a friend who is also an introvert, at least I have someone to talk to.

i've only ever gone to cons solo since i dont have any friends. it gets lonely when u see groups of friends having fun and you're on the outside looking in so to speak. i'd really like to make friends and have that experience. (and it would make getting a room easier too)

I go to cons alone. Big cons it's ok because you will find people to hang around with. Small cons suck to go alone so I stopped going to the small kind. Now I got friends but they 1,000 miles away so I straight up avoid a small con here and visit them instead.

This is my second time going to Otakon but I'm going alone this time didn't make any new friends sadly people wouldn't talk to you unless you were in cosplay I was very lonely my sister went with me in 2010. I did bring my little cousin(5years old) with me he was a mini Spider-Man with muscles sadly this was the only time anyone actually talked to me

One year it was lonely before, but when I tend to go by myself I find myself getting integrated with another group for the weekend. I think 2012 at Otakon was lonely since nothing really worked out that year and to top it off the room decided to change Thurs. to Sun. morning instead of staying all night and leaving me to find room to leave Monday. AWA and BanzaiCon will be big groups this time though. People I met at last Nashi and Banzai that want to go to Atlanta so this will be fun already

My most recent attendance to Otakon 2014 was on my own, if I got to know more people though I would definitely try to room with/hang out; however next Otakon is in DC I heard so I'm not sure if I'm going or not. Might go to Baltimore Comic-Con next year though, maybe meet and/or room with a nice girl to be my sidekick/partner.
