Hello again everyone! I'm making another post because I haven't had much going on with this site lately, I figured I'd start trying to talk to more people here rather than sit around doing nothing. 25, Male, 5'10", TX. I have enough experience to know what I'm looking for in a relationship, but I'm not planning on rushing into anything because of that, so I'm really just looking to meet people, make friends, etc. right now. I'm cool with long distance as well, travelling isn't a big deal for me. Outside of anime, I play a lot of video games (and also develop my own), and listen almost exclusively to J-rock. I enjoy dressing up in EGA (Elegant Gothic Aristocrat) styles, so I tend to spend a lot of time around the Lolita crowd both inside and outside of conventions. It'd be awesome to meet somebody who also enjoys dressing up in fancy clothing. Well I don't know how many girls would respond to this, but I am looking for a relationship. I actually haven't watched much anime in a while due to career and life transitions but I hope this will change soon! As far as relationship experience, all I can say is that I am really a rookie. I have never been in a serious relationship, however I have seen enough (and failed enough) for me to have an idea what I think an ideal relationship is. For me the best aspects that I want to see in a girl is kindness, compassion, self-awareness, and a general accepting and non-judgmental attitude. I've known too many people in my life who are only around when they want something out of you, or think they can move up life's ladder (whatever that means) via riding your coattails. Now that I am at this stage in life I have come too far to deal with drama or toxicity, and I am not afraid to stand up for myself or call things off once things go south. Now for the positives. For me personally I have always been *very* attracted to otaku girls. It's been that way ever since college and it's for a very simple reason. When I am around Japanese culture in general I feel a sense of acceptance that I don't feel anywhere else in my social life. I feel free from having to prove myself constantly just to have friends or to have some form of fulfillment. I can just be myself and no matter my mistakes and failings, I know that there will be friends and love and no more abandonment. It's why that despite having negative experiences with the anime community in the past, I am still attached to otaku and geek culture in general. The messages of emotional freedom, free will, and compassion will always resonate with me; no matter where it comes from. It's why probably one of my greatest fantasies is just falling asleep with my girlfriend in my arms after watching either an anime episode or a show like Steven Universe. In times like that I would know that our relationship would be right and it would be defined by love, creativity, and mutual fulfillment of purpose. Other than my career, relationship goals, and anime I do like to do a couple of other things. I like to write poetry for fun on my spare time and my genres usually range from romantic to life experiences. I also do a lot of weather and nature photography, though I haven't picked up my camera in a while; but I plan to do so again soon. I have captured photos of everything from Sakura (I am part Otaku of course ;)) to severe weather, lightning, and thunderstorms. Well this is a good summary of who I am for now :)
