Centuries ago, near the creation of the world, Humanity began to fall. Corruption and evil fell over the land and individuals fell down to their knees, at the hands of the Demons that consumed their minds and hearts. Beautiful, loving and creative areas, grew barren and empty. The peace and love that once sparked deep within the world, vanished slowly, and became nothing but a faint memory. Humans no longer believed in hope and fate, and if they did, it was brutally stripped away from them. Warm hearts grew cold, bright skin grew pale, and meaningful truths because pathetic lies. Myths and fairytales were used to trace the origins on why Humans faded into the plain and basic creations that they were. Even the Gods, that looked down on Humanity, laughed and mocked the way they were. They were useless. The only reason the demons of the world that roamed freely did not kill them was a simple reason, they were used as a powerhouse. Pathetic. Why? Why would Humanity turn cruel? Why would these once admirable creations of the Gods turn into savages – into useless beings that just inhabited the world and stole the organic oxygen of the world? It was simple really, the reason being sin. Sin can be compared to a snake. It’s scales allowing it to blend deeply into the darkness of the world, unseen and unheard. The silent pattern that it used to course and slither into the hearts of Humanity, was all and deadly. Sin’s fangs were deep. They punctured the metaphorical skin of innocence and injected its venom. Moving rapidly through the blood stream, the venom would cause decay and suffering. Decay of all hope and suffering of the soul. Myths came up with seven sins that were repeated in the corruption of the world. These sins were called: The Seven Deadly Sins. They were called this because they were often easily identified in the course of the world, the way the sun revolved and the way the moon chased after her. These sins were responsible for how badly Humanity were becoming. And the worst part about these sins was .. they were living. They grew so strong and so bold, they manifested within the world. They could breathe, feed, feel and live. They were simple spirits who smiled when their sin was committed and congratulated the others when they witnessed their fellow sins. They grew powerful, open, and courageous. They often met up with the other sins once a month, to talk on how they hindered (or helped) Humanity. It was called the Council of Misfortune. And today, today was the day when everyone gathered. Sloth. Greed. Wrath. Gluttony. Lust. Pride. Envy. ---------- Location: New York Time of Day: Mid-Afternoon Month: August It was in an office room, somewhere on the 11th floor of a company building. The August heat warmed the pavement of the massive city and the sun rays shined bright and reflected light off of the sky rising buildings that lined almost every inch of the city. The sins were contacted to gather around 2PM, in a local New York building called “Onidex” level 11, room 318. The entire floor was rented out for the day, so no one was able to come in without an authorized passcode for the day. The meeting room was rather large, an extending wooden table, oval shaped that could possibly seat 40 people, possibly 60 if they were compacted together. Three large crystal chandeliers lined the middle of the room, beautiful white lights that illuminated the room in an elegant manner. A smart board was mounted on the North wall and was turned off for the time being, seeing as if none of the sins would need them. The floor-To-Ceiling windows, all six of them, were shaded with blinds and curtains, concealing the meeting room from peeping eyes of neighboring buildings. The see-through door opened and a figure walked into the room, standing at five feet four inches with a slender body, it was a female. She had pale ivory skin, smooth and beautiful to look at. Her hair was cascading down her shoulders in long silken amber curls, her hair a dull hazel color. Twig-thin antlers curled from the scalp of her head and curved into an almost circular crown shape on the top of her head, twisting and bending together. She was bare footed, wearing loose sweatpants and a plain white tank-top. This was Sloth, and surprisingly, she was early for something. Well she had to be, it was her turn to host the meeting. She took a seat near the table, in one of the cushioned rolling chairs as she pulled herself up close to the wooden table. She rested her forehead on the table, with a soft groan and a lazy yawn that escaped her moist pink lips. Her amber hair scattered across the table messily as her hazel hues closed. She wanted to be in bed.. sleeping. Yet, for some reason, she was picked to host the meeting. It seemed as if she had just hosted the last one. When in fact she didn't, it was exactly her turn. With another lazy yawn, she arched her back slightly to await the arrival of the others, the other sins.
