Searching non US users

Just joined this site yesterday and seem to have a problem searching for people in my country. For some reason it only seems to show people from the US. When I select a different country eg. UK or Germany, it doesn't find a single person, why?

I have the exact same problem. No idea why it exists per se beyond the administrator's unawareness of the problem or the inability or unwillingness to fix it.
