A life decided all for you, or a life where you decide for yourself?

Would you rather have no control over your life and the interactions of lives around you? Or would you like to hold the fate of your life in your own hands that can be shaped little by little by the lives of others? And just for future refrence, this will turn into a religious thing where I talk about how religion is quite contradictory to itself. :P

Its broken down into this, those who want a fate decided do so because it is safer and they don't know its determined. Those who want a fate for them self feel strapped down to something and want to break free, from what though? Also who is deciding? In my oppinion just enjoy your life determinned or not.

On one spectrum, having a purpose in life motivates you towards that goal. On the other, living with no purpose keeps you from being restricted. Maybe we need a middle ground, like a purpose but it's mostly extra credit? I don't know.

I like to believe that I have control over the course my life takes. I am not one to believe in fate or anything like that. Not only is this thought affirming, but it makes me take responsibility for the choices I make and the friendships I strike up.

To be honest, the life where you make choices makes so much more sense. For example, complete impulsion just doesn't make sense otherwise. If I literally without thinking just throw a cup across the room, I don't understand how that's predetermined. There's just WAY too many things to plan out. If you think about it, if people's lives are just planned out, one, whats the point of trying and two, is life just that cruel that some people's lives are grand and others are terrible?

The answer zergy is yes life is cruel beyond the scope of most humans it can be. There are many forces people don't realize exist. For example wealth that some have comes at the price of sacrifices of others. Even if you don't see it first hand don't forget if you're lucky someone else isn't. Some people don't want to fight their way through life so instead of making their own decisions they have others do it for them. I don't aprove of some solders because I feel you should only join if you believe in the fight. Killing with out choice because someone ordered you is cowardly. You should never do something so extreme by someone else's choice it is your soul that will carry the weight of anothers life.

A person who thinks things will work out for them achieves nothing in life. You need to do things for yourself, learn the effects of your own actions, and learn to help, and be helped by other people who are doing the same. It's a riskier life, and you will stumble more than succeed, but the successes will be greater.

yeah I'd also like to control my own life, I mean if you're not able to control things and have it all spoon fed to you with no say in the matter. Then whats the point in living at all?! Life is mainly made of experience you encounter and what YOU make of it. Having things decided for you makes it pretty pointless. well just my 2 cents anyway.
