Taking a serious issue seriously =/= hypocrisy. There are certain threads we all troll in, yet rarely anything of this nature. Judge all you want, there is more to the story that you don't need to know about. Unnecessary trolling or douchebaggery is only hurting the cause. Continue if you wish, but know it's not me you're hurting here.
