In the future, Japan is a wasteland. In the Great Kanto Desert, scattered humans eke out a living in the hot sand.

In the year 300X, the entire world is under the tyrannical rule of the Maruhage Empire, and their ruler, Tsuru Tsurulina IV (Baldy Bald the 4th). His Hair Hunt troop captures innocent bystanders' hair, leaving the people bald and their villages in ruins.

In an alternate version of the present day, we have computers known as Persocoms that can be designed to look like toy figures, animals, and even people. Our story focuses on one such Persocom named Chi and her new owner, Hideki Motosuwa, who is too broke to buy one and yet is lucky enough to have found Chi in the trash.

A semi-serious anime wherein Tomoharu Natsume is your average high-school student but with an exception: he is being followed everywhere by Misao, his ghost best friend. Misao died three years ago in an airplane accident with Tomoharu barely surviving the accident.
