I don't recommend Dragon Nest, full of mini-transaction items, and other stuff. I'd rather play actual MMOs or RPG games. I play on emulators sometimes, but Harvest Moon is actually one of those games that is hard to emulate, surprisingly.

I agree. Of course, they could do very well compared to other games that wanted to add a HM style side-option thing. I remember playing Dragon Nest, through the Nexon gaming company, and they integrated Cooking, Fishing and Farming on their game. I was so excited at first, but when I played the game, I became immensely bored after the first couple of hours. Their idea was taking fictional vegetables that they named, and you waited REAL LIFE hours for your vegetables to grow, and if you waited too long (the plant had to maintain moisture while unpicked) the vegetable would die and vanish. Fishing took probably around 30 seconds for each cast, and sometimes you didn't catch a thing. Cooking was really annoying, you got broth from the fish, and that meant you had to catch double the fish. Bait cost around 5s a piece, and that was pretty pricey. I stopped it after around 2 days of messing around with it.

I also liked those games that had a button you could press and it put the item you were holding directly into your backpack, rather than you having to open your inventory every single time to place the item in an open slot. I hope they take some suggestions from their fans, because feedback from players is a huge concern when it comes to new game devs making a unique game.

I would imagine in the multi-player, you and the other person would have to be linked as friends through Steam, otherwise anyone could join your farm and steal your crops or something. I'm also curious how they are going to set up the inventory screen. I liked some of the HM game's inventory screen, others were a pain sometimes.

I think Harvest Moon was essentially the game that I had always wanted. An economy, relatively no danger, cute cartoon/anime-styled theme, and no actual goal except for the three year mark. I remember still seeing Harvest Moon 64 in an issue of Nintendo Magazine when we were wandering around Wal-Mart and I saw the interview about the game, and I was so excited and asked my mom multiple times to get me the game. I put so many hours into that game. Stardew definitely has its perks and with combat being an optional thing if you go exploring into caves and mineshafts, you can exponentially grow the adventures you have. I just wonder if they are keeping with the stamina thing, or can you keep going like the energizer bunny? I think it could, but I don't think they're really going to compete, per say, more like pay homage to the old school Harvest Moon games. They haven't really elaborated on what all you can do in Multiplayer, I just hope its not just mini-games like horse racing and stuff, I hope you can like explore dungeons/caves/mineshafts with multiple people. Sounds like a plan. I will send you a message with my number. :)

I know what you mean. Harvest Moon is not one of those action-packed, state-of-the-art graphics games that everyone talks about. It's not like COD and those other games, but its about a modest young adult inheriting or buying a farm and running it on what little cash he has, then building it up and raising a family. :) Alright, let me know what you think of it. Multiplayer will be nice when you're building your farm and you want stuff done but there's only so much you can do in one day. Anyways, I have a cell phone if you want to text, if not, have a great day.

Yeah, I even went back to play the original SNES version of Harvest Moon. I am glad that the series has lasted so long, I really want to get a 3DS so I can get the new one on there, but I have to save up for stuff for when I start college this Fall. Here is the website, if you're interested. http://www.stardewvalley.net -- I really wish they could allow a beta out so we can test bugs for them, I'd pay for that in a heartbeat, not to mention it has a multiplayer function. I hope you have a great afternoon and I hope to hear from you again! :)

Hi! I'm very glad to hear back from you! I truly do love the Harvest Moon series. I've played as many games as I can get my hands on, but the one that I first played was Harvest Moon 64 when I was younger. I played that game for hours, and I think the farthest I got before my 64 went out was like Year 7 - Fall. I'm doing pretty well, how about yourself? I know about a game that's in development right now on Steam that will be similar to Harvest Moon in concept and style, with added features. It's called Stardew Valley, and if you're interested in seeing it, I can show you. I hope to hear from you again! :3
