How interesting "HOUSEKI NO KUNI" is. If you love jewels, you have to read this manga.

Today I read the "Sailor Moon" by Naoko Takeuchi. I still love the story.

I can understand Finnish (native), English (good), Swedish (ok) and Japanese (at some level). I know Historie by its name, but I have not read it yet. It's on my must-be checked list someday. I have heard it's a great manga. Basilisk is actually translated into Finnish both manga and anime. I have watched a few episodes of anime from the start and seen the ending. It's ok series, but not my favorite. The other manga series you mention are new to me. Many Finnish would probably say their favorite anime is Ginga Nagareboshi Gin as they have seen it during their childhood. So due to the nostalgia value, it's also my favorite. You may not have heard of the series based on manga by Yoshihiro Takahashi. If that's not counted, then maybe Monster because I think it's very untypical anime. Twelve Kingdoms anime is also high in my favorite list, but I prefer the novels. Sadly only 4 books were translated into English so I haven't been able to read the story further. What comes to manga, my current favorite is Kindaichi Case Files. It has an interesting concept where the reader is able to solve the murder and deduct the culprit. Semi-historical choice would be Lone Wolf & Cub by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima. Samurai Executioner might be better, though, but I haven't finished it yet. In addition, I prefer the live action TV series (not the movies) of Lone Wolf & Cub which was produced in the 70s. The story follows very closely to the manga.
