Yes, yes it is. Your elipse lets me know either you already know it or you despise it lol, it does have a lot of fighting, but a lot of harem romance as well to balance it. Unfortunately I'm a diehard romantic so I loved the mushy stuff, maybe Gun Gale Online will have more action for you :D

Aw, was SAO too hammy for you? I ask cause one of my friends didn't like it cause he said it focused too much on the romantics between Kirito and Asuna, but that was why I loved it lol. Hayate has an anime but it skips quite a lot of the manga cause of the amount of chapters so if you would want the full story the manga is the way to go

I'm a big manga fan so the 445 chapters of Hayate will keep you busy for a while lol, but a nice fighting anime is Inuyasha, I would wake up at 5:30 in the morning when I was 8 to watch it so I found it very good lol. And if anything favorites of anyone are welcome to see, but my all time favorite anime will be SAO, I'm an absolute fanatic, but I'm happy to already get a friend to chat anime/manga with so soon!
