Hi Perorist. Hope you are okay. I've been busy with my life concerns as usual. I'm about finished with Conversational Japanese class online.
Hello Peroristさん! I'm so sorry for my late response - I hope I didn't make you upset. │･ω･`)
Of course I do want to help you about the anime industry situation in Germany. It's not so easy to answer that question, because I know many people who buy DVDs and on the other hand a few who are streaming animes via sites - but I think that streaming websites are more in common for the younger generation. For instance, I do prefer to buy anime OST CDs instead of the digital version you can get on amazon etc (I know that many people just buy the digital versions).
We have a bunch of streaming websites where you can watch animes - for free (ad-supported, low resolution etc.) or pay tv on demand. This video shows some examples:
I don't know many SNS in Germany. Two German websites I know are Animexx or Anitalk. Also, it gives alot of facebook/discord groups. Then you have the chance to go to conventions and meet other anime&manga fans - that's the way how I meet other fans in Germany. Some poeple I met there are my friends now (=´∇｀=)
Vice versa: How is the anime industry in Japan? Do you have a strong SNS there?
btw, that site what you have posted is really exciting! https://r.gnavi.co.jp/nobu/en/ I wanna know more (^._.^)ﾉ☆
Best regards back from the Weser river ♥
