Oh yeah, I'm sure they value hard work and discipline! And they are also SO POLITE >_< What =0?? Oh geez, that poor actress...I know, right? One person related to something like this does that, and then they generalize all otaku -_- Yeah, I like to get to know someone based on their inner person, not their skin color, religion, income, etc. And that's true, that can be applied to any race or minority..anyone can be racist, not just white people, not just black people..yeah, our country has evolved so much and we're so diverse that it's about time we realize that's our strength is our ability to trust differences..lol, I know this is a serious topic, but I can't help but hear the song in my head "Everyone's a little bit racist" from Avenue Q XD

Yeah, when that word comes to mind, it's hard to not picture a screaming fangirl XD or someone wearing a lot of the anime merchandise even though tshirts, plushies, and pocky are very, very hard to resist >__< or a guy in a basement playing lots of Pokemon video games XD !! but yeah, I wish it were appreciated as a regular form of pop culture rather than a minority fan group

Lol I think most otakus have heard that stereotype about anime before -_- But that's awesome that you got her interested in some series..I think that's a good place to start when you're introducing someone to it and they already believe that anime is dirty and violent or whatever..and there's a lot of slice-of-life series to choose from ^_^

Yeah for that kind of specialty store, that is definitely a plus..and learning about more series should keep things interesting ^_^ And if a customer asked you for an anime recommendation, it's even better =)

Ah..speaking of series that transform from one genre to another, there's this anime I saw but I can't remember the name..but it was absolutely ridiculous!!! I was just starting at the screen like this 0_0 thinking *what am I watching?* I think it was Saga something or other...any ideas?
