Hmm, how to differentiate myself from the other otaku here? I'm a marine veteran who was able to live in Okinawa, Japan for a little over a year. I bought the most anime out there. I have always had a love for anime. I started drawing when I was in 1st grade. My first drawing that I remember was of Batman. My first anime was Gatchaman, known as G-Force on cartoon network. Then I discovered the good stuff! Akira/ Patlabor/ Tank Police, Vampire Hunter D, old school movie grade anime.
By middle school, I was drawing anime characters and learning all about Japan's cultural influence in anime. I became in love with the culture.
By high school, I was pleased to make several close friends who love anime just as much as I did. I was introduced to some awesome shows like Ranma 1/2, Trigun, and Great Teacher Onizuka. And I was a huge fan of Dragon Ball Z (Drawing & watching) After a while I thought maybe I would of pursued a career as an animator (which Im sure most artist think at one point of their lives). However the only way I could afford was to join the military and hope to be stationed out in Japan to get a hands on experience. Unfortunately, I arrived at a time of restrictions and bs rules. So close, yet so far. I never got the chance to meet anyone in the industry. I did however buy a $1,200 collection of anime on dvd. (anime dvds were almost 30 bucks each at the time!)
Anyway, because of the war and stuff, my skills got rusty. I draw from time to time, but now I just binge on anime when I can.
My top 5 favorite series (anime and or manga) in no particular order: One Piece, Berserk, Fighting Spirit, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist.
But like I said, I have a hefty collection.
Im also a gamer. I think anime and gaming kinda go hand in hand, don't they? : P I play a ton of games. Though now a days I am picky with what I play. Mostly F2P MMOs
I have a few B2P games like D2, D3, GW2.
Anyway this is way too long. If you want to know more, leave me a message and lets chat! Kampai!
