Well when Season 5 had cut alot of the meat from Feast of Crows and Dance with Dragons, they had to take liberties in giving the support characters of the show like The Hound and Brienne's fight, or Jamie's plot being altered with the Sand Snakes, just to name a couple. So when Martin gets around to putting out the new book, my feeling is they'll end it there.
