I guessing Ishida experimented with different types. Also, we only know of Japanese and a few Chinese ghouls. Maybe ghouls from another part of the world have different kinds. MAYBE I SHOULD WRITE A SPINOFF CALLED NEW YORK GHOUL

It's really well done! Ishida definitely gave it it's own style. Maybe he wanted it to feel like a memory, since it was a story of a young Arima

Well, Im sure Hide thought of Kaneki as his brother :) he was a good guy like that. I know, it's going to be April before everything is revealed! I won't watch Steven's Universe until you start Jack ;3

Wouldn't be shocked if they did, and that Ishida drew them that way on purpose. If you think about it, Hide was Kaneki's only family. His one true friend. The one place that made him feel safe. So I'm sure Kaneki took some of Hide's clothes, and I'm sure Hide let him keep them.
