I'm obviously a geek (why would I be on here if I wasn't) though I'll admit I'm not necessarily up to date on all the new anime. I did take Japanese in college though. I'm more into British TV and European culture but I've loved Japanese culture since middle school.
I am a huge language geek. In addition to Japanese, I studied German, Latin, Ancient Greek, and Russian in college. I love linguistics and etymology.
In addition to geeky stuff, I love being out in nature. I love hiking, camping, canoeing, rock climbing and just about anything that gets me out in the woods. I also love working with animals of all shapes and sizes.
This past year I got involved with a company selling dragons at the PA RenFaire. In my opinion it is the best job in the world. I work with the best people selling a product I really care about in a place I completely enjoy. It's very rewarding even if it doesn't pay that much. So from August through October I don't usually have free weekends.
I'm not religious at all. I grew up Methodist and really enjoyed doing all the mission work (fixing houses, both locally and in the south) but after watching the movie, Dogma, I really started to question Christianity. At this point I'm agnostic, I don't know if there's a god. I'd like to believe there is some higher power but who am I to know anything about that higher power if it does exist. I'm usually pretty open to new ideas but don't expect me to believe too strongly in anything spiritual. I respect those who do though.
I'm generally pretty optimistic. I try not to worry about how things happen, I just do what I can and trust that things will work out the way they should.
