Yeah I would agree with you on shonen.
I plan to watch Captain Harlock at some point. Let me know what you think plus if you like that I hear Queen Emeraldas is good as well.

I agree with you there. As for what comes after for the genre most prominent.
1986-1995 -> neo-tokyo, cyberpunk
1996-1999 - > action/adventure and magical girl
2000-2005 -> slice of life/harem
2006-present -> MOE culture
At least this is how I see it.

I agree but there are times that I am just sad about the culture at the same time. Look at how the MOE culture changed the way we view and look at anime back in the 80's/90's and now. Big differences.

Yes it is great. Currently in my top 5 lol. Time machines can be scary if used wrong then again that goes with most things.

Well, I have to say after watching Robotics;Notes for some time it doesnt beat Steins;Gate one bit so far. This is not to say that the series is bad but I could not get into any of the characters mindset. At least the story is getting more interesting now in ep 19. This is my opinion though.
