People of MO im gonna reveal the true meaning of the OST of Tokyo ghoul... this is what it means according to my perspective and research.. Just a little heads up. Tokyo Ghoul Opening 1 Unravel, is actually Kaneki mentally speaking to Hide. The song Unravel is directed not to any other character in Tokyo Ghoul, nor the audience, but Hide. It is solely Kaneki speaking to Hide, basically begging Hide not to discover what he has become, but to accept and remember what he was. See, "Don’t bother seraching for somebody like me. A fading no one. I don’t want to hurt you, it’s not my nature. A monster born from dusk to dawn can’t be your savior, remember the me, the way I used to be." Another translation. "Please don’t bother looking for me; don’t stare at me.. I merely don’t want to hurt you, inside a world, that came out of someone’s imagination. So please remember me; as vivid as I was.” Basically, it’s Kaneki asking Hide not to look for him, because he is afraid of what he himself has become, but asking Hide to still love him and cherish him by the old memories he has of him. However, we know that Hide does love Kaneki for what he has become….
