I like games myself, but that's not enough of a reason for me to run Windows. Mostly I like older games, and Touhou, which runs under Wine. There's a few exceptions for PC games, like Skyrim. Very nice setup there, I'm planning to build a new Intel-based system of my own pretty soon:
Intel Xeon E3-1220V3 Haswell 3.1GHz (Air cooled)
At least 32GB RAM
Some decent MicroATX board with 3 PCIe slots
Some Nvidia card, have yet to decide
4x 15K RPM SAS array, RAIDz2 ZFS
Blu-ray reader
I'll run Windows on either a flash or eSATA disk until BHYVE supports Windows as a virtualization guest, I'm worried about noise and space, but I want a Xeon, since I'm gonna need the durability because my systems run almost always 24/7. My requirements are a little different than most people's.
Currently about to call it a night, but feel free to message me or post on the profile if you want to talk more tech stuff.

That's fine. I did it for the money, not because I liked them or anything. What's your main system you use on a daily basis configured with?
Mine's currently a Thinkpad t510 running FreeBSD 10.1, has an Arrandale i5-540M, 8GB RAM, 1TB hybrid drive. Does the job for that. When I'm at home I currently do a lot of work from my SGI Octane2.

Ah okay. I don't reverse engineer with regards to programming. Mostly C, Korn Shell, Perl, Python and PHP here. Out of all of those, I do like C the best. I'm a UNIX guy then again. I've got some neat machines in my place at the moment.

"Join the club" is a figure of speech. There is no club. I meant I also build computers too, and fix them etc, and so do a number of others here.
And I see on the username. Cool. I'm also a programmer myself, and a server admin. I've got a lot of machines in my place at the minute.
