ah ofcourse! take all the time you need ^v^!! My definition of moral consideration is to apply the golden rule to that thing. I like to preface 'moral consideration' with 'basic' when I talk about animals because I understand they will never be given the same rights we give each other, such as the right to vote. I want animals to have the right to life and the ability to live that life unimpeded by humans. However, the moral consideration of humans will always supersede that of humans, just as the moral consideration of animals will always supersede that of plants. My parameters for moral consideration are levels of sentient. The more sentient the more I value their life. Humans are the most sentient so I value their lives above all other creatures below it. But this only extends if the human life is endangered by an animal, or if they need the animal to keep living, which is why I think indigenous people are morally justified when it comes to their meat consumption. When it comes to the separation of humans/animals, while I do acknowledge the genetic fact that we are indeed animals, we are undeniably exceptional when it comes to the members in our kingdom. If any animal held the same abilities that our brains possess I would hold them to the same standard I do humans.
