Which convention is it? $50 is too much for one day, that has to be the price for the entire convention(3 days). I usually go for one day, cause after seeing every exhibit and spending my cash im ready to go. Indeed, there are certain events(Masquerade on Fri, Singing contest on Sat, and etc). that are held n a specific day during the convention, they should have a events list on the website, though if the convention months away it might not be up their right away but, yo should check the events to see what exactly is going on. The real reason i think anyone would stay for a few days is if they are truly hardcore and just wanna stay the whole convention or they are participating in a few contest that are on scheduled days. Personally, id only go for a day. If i went a second it would be to show off another costume.

Prices vary depending on how big the convention is if its small it will be about $15-20 for a day, larger ones might be $25-30 a day, sometimes the hey have two day passes which are a lil more moneyz. Most conventions due have pre-register on their sites, these are convient in two ways 1. The price is cheaper the earlier you register before the deadline for that registry, after wards it will be more expensive 2. If the convention is big and popular you wont have to wait in lines that sometimes are an hour long just to get in, (Though, small conventions your fine) and go through the long process of registry at the registry booth. I would suggest you always pre-register so, you have your information already in the conventions system so you can bypass the lines and just have them look up your info you submitted prior to attending. You'll have fun if you cosplay or not either way, I always cosplay at any convention i go to! You get to show off your costume and get compliments and props, as well as participate in the masquerade balls, or cosplay contest. Always make sure you keep your wallet on you and bring a considerable amount of cash. If your on a budget, then i would just look for small expensive stuff but, if youve saved cash and feel like splurging and you mostly likely will, they have Mutiple DVD, Manga, Sword, Clothing, exhibit, collectible, video game and food vendors. Its sick how much stuf they have even at the small conventions.

I never been to Convention around your area but, im sure they are pretty decent. AX(Anime Expo) is must go, i would suggest you take a trip down to Los Angeles and stay for a day or two because its the largest in the states. AX has arcade rooms, panels, games, competitions like Anime Idol were sing your favorite anime theme in front of an audience (winner becomes a intro theme singer for a series), You get to meet popular voice actors of anime characters, there are performances by japanese groups, AX has a bigger turnout at least 10,000 people i think Smaller conventions are usual held at hotel Ballrooms so if you find a site for one that says it will be at a hotel, it well like entering a small shop full of cosplayers and may have a game room with a few events. I know theres a few around your area but,Im not sure how big they are but, California has at least 7-8 anime conventions a year. They range from Southern California all the way to the Bay Area. but check the site and visit one nearest to you, either way your first time at a convention is gonna be your greatest time ever. Ive been to at least 9 conventions, 6 of which were AX. Ive never been to a bay area convention before but, I assume they are small but, i could be wrong. If you have any questions about em you can always ask me.

O.O You absolutely must go to a convention even if its an itty bitty one there are tons of events you can participate, and cool stuff you can buy. You might even get to meet voice actors or artist of a major series.
Well, there are a bunch of conventions in CA. It just so happens AX is the largest in the states it takes place in Los Angeles now during July. Yes..Tokyo fair is in Tokyo its the largest Anime convention in the world. I always check http://www.animecons.com/events/. to see whats in the area.

Yuyu Hakusho is my all time favorite. However, I basically grew up on OVA's. AnimeWorks, mainly. I dont know if you would remember Magic Knights or El Hazard but, Im sure you would Tenchi Muyo, Kenshin, and Trigun. When anime became mainstream is when i kinda strayed away, i would have never imagined it being as large as as it is now. Back, when i first started watching in the 90's i can only remember a few of my friends that actually new about any other good titles save for Dragonball. I havent been watching any recent anime as of late. I think alot of them are just to similar in plot and structure. Though i plan on going to the Tokyo anime fair next year. So, how did you fall in love with anime?
