People living with their parents/parent

satoshix
It can definitely be a turn off for a lot of people, but like some people have mentioned it depends on the situation. If you have no job/life and are only mooching off your parents you definitely have some issues unless you have an underlying condition or something traumatic happened to you. I would understand if that were the case. In my case I actually live with my mom, but I could move out at anytime that I want. I have a great job and i'm helping out my mom and my brother(College rent) with their rent. 2 different rents lol. So why would I want to move out right now? It would be a waste of money and with our current situation I have to stay strong. So I think it all depends on the reason/situation that you're in. It's nothing to be ashamed about!!!

I agree, Satoshix. The societal model where the young man moves out and get's his own place at the age of 18 is actually a fairly recent one, and one that (Like the stay at home house wife) is no longer economically feasible for most of us anymore. It isn't realistic to have a working class single guy hold onto a house with a job which prevents him from moving up in the world, unless he has a roommate, or a significant other who could take on a supplementary income. Family is just a more classical option.

I find that it's not okay for males to still be living at home. I'm still at home as I went back to uni again and again, but even then it's still looked down upon.

I don't mind as long as they are being productive, like working on a project, helping their parents, saving, or going to school. However if we did end up dating and it got serious I would want them to eventually move out and find a place with me. I think it would put a strain on the relationship if they wanted to live at their parents house forever ono), unless they need to take care of their parents then i would understand.

Its a norm here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In india everyone live with their parents :V Its not like the parents pay for them or anything, parents are retired and enjoy their life and the child pays for the parent after 21.. thats the norm here. Though u do have the option to move out and get ur own house but eventually the parents follow u and live with u, its very lovely that way ^^

Can't speak for everyone, but it's normal for males in ph to stay with their parents. We have close family ties. The only time they move is when they want to start their own family.

I moved out and went to school at 18 and haven't had to go back yet. If a girl lived with her parents it would be annoying but not a deal breaker.
