People living with their parents/parent

dakoya
I skimmed through all the posts and I would agree w/ Enki and LaughingMan. Since we're Asians, it's kind of traditional for us to live w/ our parents, especially for the guys to do that. It's in our culture. Growing up like so, I don't really mind if people live w/ their parents. It's kind of expected and if you didn't live w/ your parents, but had them living else where, it could show badly on your part, that you don't hold familial ties in high regards or that you are too poor to take care of your parents. Living in the states, though, I do see why some people would prefer others to not live w/ their parents. But you are just limiting yourself by having a closed mind if you reject people based on things like that. Of course, like most ppl have said, if there's some kind of weird issue like mental or financial dependence or the like from said child to parent, then things get kind of iffy ~_~...

I know it's usually a prejudice and people that lives with their parent is seen as a bad thing (mostly the infamous basement thing) but is it that big a deal? It's financially cheaper to live with them and if you're comfortable where you live, why move? I have a friend living with his dad and they pay the rent and bills 50/50 and his dad keep saying he's jealous of him because he gets to live with him because his parents kicked him out because "adulthood".
