Do your friends respect Anime?

My BFF respects my interest in it and used to like it but has since lost interest. I have no one who likes anime as much as I do save for this site.

All my closest friends like anime, but having had a manager that mixed up anime as being hentai when I brought it up, I know the pain. Throughout high school I wasn't afraid to express my interest in anime, but I didn't have very many friends either. Hopefully things are better nowadays.

A lot of my frans seem to think anime = hentai -__-. I tell them this is not the case and when i name a few shows they usually recognize at least 1 show.

I have quite a few friends that are not into anime and tease me here and there over it. No harm just normal friendly banter. Every so often they find interest in a show and come to me to ask about it. So I guess it is nice to be acknowledged as their go to source to find out if an anime is worth watching or not or get recommendations afterwards. Converted quite a few this way to.

My friends? Not so... My buddies? Hell, we do anime marathon together sometimes

I won't regard people who cannot treat anime/manga with a right attitude to be my friends, so all friends of mine like anime.

I dont have friends so Ill talk about my coworkers, I like animes and I show it I have backgrounds on my desktop of pretty much every anime Ive watched and maybe I got lucky but I got popular for it my nickname in the shop is Ani or my special name from my boss Hentai boy hell Ive even got some people coming to my desk and point out some anime they watched and I was clueless about them ever watching an anime and hell yea I do get shit for it my section supervisor is a old school guy in his 60's and hates on my background everytime he walks by but hey what can you do about it personally I find it hilarious, so to answer the question yes its a more a more generic thing so people dont have much serious stigmas about it, yes you'll get the troll hentai thing but that's up to you to take it lighly
