Do you think faith/religion is necessary for someone to have a good sense of morality? Please explain why you think one way or the other.

Not in the least, I'm not really active on the forums and vouching for myself isnt the best but I keep away from religion and I still think I have a good sense of morality, or what most people would consider it. Despite what people want to believe, most religious people are good people, whether you agree with them or not, they arent going go out of their way to harm people, and vice versa, There some non religous people that are the biggest cunts you'll ever meet. It could go either way, I dont think religion really haves much of an effect on it.

Not really. Mainly because I don't like the feeling I get from it. But morality is subjective to different people though.

While religion does teach some morality and things that keep humans as humans for example don't kill or don't steal etc. but I don't find it necessary if the parents and teachers are giving a good example. I think children should have some kind of occupation like art classes, sports or other hobbies and clubs to give some sense of community and learning things from them. Most religious people are patient because they do prayers, go to church and other activities, like any members of club and even school. So no, I don't think religion is necessary to have a "good" sense of morality.

Just because u go to church it doesn't make u a good person. Just like doing bad things doesn't necessarily mean u r a bad person "Zangief, you are bad guy, but this does not mean you are bad guy."-Wreck it Ralph

Is Zangief a religion yet?! Someone should google this.

Plus I believe someone can be good without believing in a religion. I am a Christian, and I am a good person. There are bad Christians too believe me. If I wasn't a Christian I would still have a big heart. Personally believing in God and Jesus helps me with having someone to depend on and talk to on a daily basis. Despite not getting answers back. I know that sounds weird, but it strangely makes me feel better.

Personally, no. However, there are some good religious folks I've met. I just think the person should develop mortality themselves rather than a use of some book. I by no way intend to offend but that is how I just see it. To me, it just depends on the learning environment of the individual. There are religious parents who go overboard as they enforce their child into the religion with loads of nonsense. I admit, at a young age I was convinced to believe in a god. However, the way I was convinced in that time was through fear. Fear as in the afterlife and such. Fear of punishment. This was back in elementary. As I got older, I started to think it's nonsense and be however I want.
