What is boring to you?

m42rigelorionis
lack of intellect bores me. I find people who go about their lives fulfilling daily tasks or handling life in a matter-of-fact style to be quite boring. People who think about things beyond daily life; at the state of things, questioning things--that interests me. Anyone with a spark within them; a fascination and a sense of wonder is interesting, regardless of where it is projected at.

Doing absolutely nothing bores the hell out of me - I constantly need to keep myself preoccupied with something and I don't necessarily mean the typical boredom where you're sitting at home with little to do and cba to go out or whatever (Even though that is REALLY boring) but the kind of nothing where you aren't making anything of yourself in your life. That's why I'm constantly trying to work to some sort of life goal at all times, no matter how small or grand it may be. I see a lot of people romanticize the NEET life and honestly, that kind of life is really not my cup of tea whatsoever. I want to be doing something at all times with a greater goal in mind - that's why I always have a number of hobbies and personal projects that I can work on and why I'm always doing my best at work because whether things go well or not, the sense of accomplishment I get for simply trying and doing my best alone is worth it and is incredibly fun to me. So um, yeah I guess that would be my answer :D

Honestly what bores me the most are people who are ironically easily bored of others. You know the type. They treat life like this big tv set and other people are the characters. People who put the responsibility of keeping the conversation interesting entirely on others. Who love to sit back and judge and condescend. Never mind doing some things for yourself, developing interesting hobbies, maybe having some shit to say every now and then. No no they are content to just sit there and wait for someone else to put a smile on their face. You try to have a conversation and sure they'll smile and listen but you and them both know that they do not have anything to add to it. And yet they will call you the boring one if they aren't entertained. I used to be like this btw until my brother told me how annoying it was and I'm inclined to agree now. It is actually a little frustrating if you couldn't tell. Because their empty, soulless, meandering, unproductive, unappreciative, and unrepentant ass is too busy waiting for the whole goddamned world to do something to ever realize "hey, maybe I can do something too". And I REFUSE to entertain these types these days. For some of you on here this is your big hint as to why I don't talk to you anymore. The reason I stopped talking to you is because I was doing all the talking and you weren't saying anything. A little shyness is fine every now and then. I get it, I'm awesome and talking to me can be a little intimidating(Oh god I sound like a prick xD) but just say something. It's boring and I do not care about having a 300+ friends list full of people I never talk to. If someone is passionate about it I can have an entertaining conversation about damn near anything. I had a two hour conversation with a friend about leaves once. So yeah, people who don't communicate bore me.

Doing tasks that don't require me to put much thought into.

I dunno, sometimes, when I'm in a certain state of mind, the things I love to do can become boring. I guess to me, writer's block and boredom seem to go hand in hand though.

TV, routines, common sense...

I get bored when I go someplace and it takes longer than I expect, and I forget to bring a book. It's the worst.

@halo... Though I'm just now reading it. Your comment was awesome. I do enjoy your insight, even if at times I can be one of those people myself. Most boring thing I can think of is "rush hour traffic". The reason being you have to stay focused on driving or you'll hit the person in front of you when they slam on their brakes for the 100th time. And driving a stick makes it worse. Any other time I'm bored I can simply loose myself in my own thoughts. Just not in bad traffic.
