Dorms, communes and apartments

darkxangel
What are your experiences with those kind of livings?

My dorm was a bitch. The doors would lock you out if forget your key, which happens often if wanna get up during the night for something to drink. people stole your butter, cutlery, dishrags and was all around generally messy. Never been in a commune so I don't know. And I'm currently living in a student house with just me and my girlfriend, and that's pretty sweet. So I'd say Apartments are the better options, but all about the money.

"people stole your butter". LMFAO. I live in a dorm and locked myself out a couple times, too. That sucked. When I was still new in the dorm and knew nobody I had to spend a night in the showers. You could lock the door and they had good heating.. so I survived. And got my spare key in the morning.. I do, however have a pretty big room and my own fridge and cooking space..so that's nice. Also lived in communes back in Berlin and it's probably one of the best options for students. You save money but still have far more privacy than in dorms. And I also knew some people who stricty didn't want to live alone after graduating.. so yeah, you always have someone to talk to and hang out with. I'll be moving in an own apartment very close to campus soon and that is going to be amazing. Finally my own shower. -whipes tears- And an actual kitchen. Though it is a lot more expensive because of the great location and since it's a very modern apartment complex.

Oh man I just got out of a year of dorms always roomates 1 to 6 and to me the experience you get is all on them, we were 4 in a room there was a good athmosphere and we were just having fun then a 17 year old kid came in and then complete mayham the athmosphere was heavy we all wanted to beat him up so bad he would piss us off but we be pissed him off he would cry that he would say it to the sergeant, another time a guy came hella drunk and we put some toothpaste in his mouth his bed we a conplete mess of toothpaste, good times Finally having my first house even though I had good and bad experiences im pretty happy to end up alone

I remember the first dorm I stayed in. One night you could hear from on of the rooms, "I FUCKING HATE THIS PLACE!" And I heard tell of someone taking a shit in the hallway. Good times. The other dorms I stayed in were marginally better after that one. Since my last year of college, I've lived in various apartments. I sure miss those ones that had a washer and dryer included.

My group of close friends actually wants to buy a house and we can all have a room. The idea kicks ass honestly. My concern is I think eventually one of them is going to want to have kids, then what? But, other than that it'd be a great idea.

I grew up in an apartment and live in one now with roommates. It's not bad at all unless you're used to having a house and having less space is going to be a problem for you lol

I lived in an apartment for a year, it was horrible.
