Thoughts on extreme atheism...

masakan
@Noisewav Honestly....I say give it time, I'm almost convinced that sooner or later that there is gonna be an extremist atheist group who intends to "Cleanse" the world of religion, and let natural selection take it's course.

> You are walking a very dangerous and self destructive path Reaper. You are aware of this I hope? Nothings self destructive if you've the focus and training to isolate it. I only commit the deeds I do against hateful people who, unlike me, have no reason for hatred against groups of people or ideas other than a 2,000 year old book of fairytales which among other things encourages patricide and massacring villages. >its like disliking someone for their skin color, gender or sexual interests. its a prejudice. Au contraire, I have friends who are Christian. They're aware of how I feel about their faith, and a few of my friends who begun Christian have since become atheist. Its not a prejudice. Its following reason. Christianity is one of many religions, but it, and Islam, are about the most incorrect and aggressive dispensers of bullshit. > is considered Illegal. Only against government websites, and only if you steal information. Otherwise, its a civil case. Which, if you don't know your aggressor, its worthless. > He would likely argue that all those things you mentioned aren't something people do by choice where as religion is. Religion is a choice. People consciously make these decisions. They choose to believe whatever. And in most cases, there's nothing wrong with that. But in the form of Christianity and Islam, it often encourages destruction of many facets of civilization. > I do think value systems are a pretty important compass for people though Religion and value systems are neither mutually inclusive or exclusive to each other, similarly, one can be moralistic and not have values or religion. None of these things are important, as humanity survived millennia without organized religion. As far as me being 'extremist' I don't commit acts of terrorism or violence. I commit acts of protest and harassment. And in about 80% of SWATings I've done, the person was a known criminal, so it wasn't like I was abusing E911 services.

What I think on extreme atheism is their mostly the same as any other religion they all keep them self in a large bubble and try to blame another group for the wrongs in the world instead of looking from another point of view that we all make mistakes and sometimes are effects have a consequence on others and the planet. Also they disregard other opinions if others don't conform to their view point as well as refuse to meet others halfway like nearly all large religions. Technically nearly all large groups seem to think violence is the only way to solve an issue when another scares or upset them they never 'think how can I solve this without innocences getting hurt in this dispute'.

Masakan, I know exactly what you're talking about in your opening post. I'm an Agnostic Diest myself. And I generally regard both atheist and theist beliefs with respect and even a bit of fascination or interest. Though I have found the Atheists you are referring to. And they irk me the wrong way as well. Probably even more so than religious zeolots. Like at least on the extreme side of religion, it comes more to a sociological aversion toward temptation. But when it's an Atheist who refuses to listen to me when I bring up many of the paradoxes of mainstream physics in order to deconstruct their perceived world view in order to prove the point that athiesm is technically just as ignorant as theism, and I get that thing where they put their fingers in their ears and loudly shout out "Nyeh nyeh nyeh, I'm not listening to you!" then I just cant help but want to slap them across the face and shout out "You're supposed to be a free thinker! Who programmed you!?" Its like the same kinda stubbornness I see in Jehovahs Witness's when I explain to them the parallels of their faith and Buddhism.

Most extremes suck. To me extreme atheist are as bad as extremely religious people. Extreme atheism is a religion itself. Your religious believes are not my business to handle. As long as you don't push it on me forcefully idc.

I knew this thread was going to end up like this. I don't fucking care, people are shit anyway so they're going to find some excuses inside any law or belief to explain themselves why they do absurd things. The belief is not at fault, people are. So no, extremes are not a good thing because they never ever understand what they're reading/watching. They just automatically transform it to lie to themselves.
