He probably took those items because he imagined they were things you use in Minecraft. He IMAGINED they were things he would use in minecraft. He didn't necessarily use those items in ways they would be used in real life. But all that doesn't matter because he took items that can be considered weapons to school. That's the main point. The minecraft detail is really all it is. A superficial detail that doesn't mean anything in the long run. No one thinks this kid was violent or a danger to others, but no tolerance is no tolerance, especially with a gun, bullets, knife, and hammer

I think you're seriously underestimating the power of a child's imagination

Oh whoa, have you not read my posts at all? I said the issue is that he brought items that can be considered as weapons to school and that's the main point. The Minecraft detail is just superficial

You keep saying that so and so items have nothing to do with minecraft, thus the connection to minecraft is ludicrous. I'm saying that there is a connection in that the kid probably took these items that I understand aren't in the game but because he's imaging that they are items that are in the game, he's acting Minecraft out in real life. That's it. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying it's ok for him to bring such things to school, but I am saying that it's not an unreasonable explanation as to why minecraft is mentioned
